Individual Pitching Instruction
Julie teaches each pitcher her set of Snap Drills to ensure that each pitcher has the correct basic mechanics. Once a pitcher has mastered the fundamental mechanics, Julie works with them on speed, accuracy, and then off-speed and spin pitches. She works with each pitcher’s individual strengths to maximize her pitching potential. Other areas discussed and practiced include proper warm-up; pitch selection and placement based upon counts, outs, and runners on base; mental preparation; and working closely with catchers and coaches. Catching Instruction
Good pitchers need good catchers. Strike 3 staff includes knowledgeable coaches to give individual instruction for catchers to work on stance, framing, blocking, throwing, and footwork. Catchers are also taught the mental aspect of the game including calling pitches, working counts, and understanding a catcher’s role on a team. Sign up online for individual catching instruction.
Batting Cage Rental
Strike 3 Pitching offers access to two batting cages set up for fastpitch softball. The top-of-the-line pitching machines can accommodate hitters of all ages and skill levels, and bats and helmets are available for use. The machines are not automatic, so hitters must be accompanied by someone who can feed balls. Cages may be rented by the half-hour or hour. Sign up online for batting cage rentals.
Open Pitching Practice
Looking for a place to pitch, but all the gyms are full or the weather isn’t cooperating? The Strike 3 Pitching facility has enough space available to accommodate several pitchers at a time who wish to get in some pitching practice without a lesson. Balls, plates, and buckets are available for use. Catchers gear (adult and youth size) is also available for use by any catcher, whether parent or a teammate.
